(7 Nov 09 - RV) Caritas Internationalis and other humanitarian organizations are calling on world leaders to make sure that the poor will not be left out of the picture when they meet for a major environmental summit in Copenhagen next month. Floriana Polito, the Caritas spokesperson for climate change, said that humanitarian and religious groups have an important role to play in encouraging policies that ensure that development goals are not sacrificed.
