(4 May 07 - RV) Pope Benedict XVI today received the former President of Iran, Mohammed Khatami. A statement from the Press Office of the Holy See said the pope and the president discussed the need for serene dialogue among cultures, a dialogue that must aim at resolving the grave tensions that sign our times. The Founder and Director of the Centre for Research and Documentation of Arab Christianity at St. Joseph's University in Lebanon is Jesuit Father Samir Kalil Samir. He says the western trained intellectual and former President of Iran has a broad view of intercultural dialogue.
