The 8th edition of the Symposium on religion, science and environment wound up in New Orleans and in his closing talk the Ecumenical patriarch, Bartholemew lst, spoke of the urgency to foster a sense of responsibility for the global environmental situation. In his talk the archbishop of New Orleans, Archbishop Michael Aymond echoed the message sent by the Pope to the symposium, calling on all Christians to bear witness to their respnsibility to safeguard Creation.
The next gathering will be at Lake Victoria but the date for the appointment has not yet been fixed.
